OUR STORY

Our journey into the BARF world began in 1996. We had a female Boxer named Sassy that had numerous food and environmental allergies. We were “regulars” at our Vet’s office getting shots, pills, ointments, shampoo’s, etc. We were trying anything and everything to help her get some relief. We even took her to an allergy specialist and had a special serum made to her specific allergies. We followed the Vet’s advice and changed her diet to a recommended commercial kibble that was “low allergen” and continued with her very expensive allergy shots. We anxiously waited and watched for improvement. She continued suffering through symptoms such as scratching, licking, lack of energy and no appetite. She was miserable and we said enough is enough! At the same time a friend suggested we try an “all natural” approach and feed a raw diet. We did our research (see recommended websites) and discovered the BARF diet may be the answer, or at least we hoped so.
